Kids in the Kitchen

Illustrated Recipes

One of my favorite things to do is spend time in my kitchen, and so when I had kids I was exciting to share this with them.  My son has been making scrambled eggs since he was a year and a half (I never would have let my oldest near the oven at that age), but he was interest so I let him go for it.

I realized there are not many recipes out there that are easy to follow.  (We do love Pretend Soup by Mollie Katzen).  But other than that, it seems like you have to be able to read to be in the kitchen.

Below are some illustrated recipes my kids and I enjoy making together.

Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp is my favorite dessert, and it is even better when I get to make it with my kids!

One Banana - Banana Muffins

Small batch muffins to use that last over ripe banana sitting on the counter.  This recipe is fun and simple for kids as little as 3 to help out with, and equally delicious!
